From Our Family to Yours
Someone recently asked for recommendations of good Christian children’s music, so who better to ask than our two resident music experts: Char Larsen and John Bush!
Of Char’s several recommendations of music that kids can sing along with, I found the Cedarmont Kids collections to be the best choice. Cedarmont Kids has a lot of CDs with varying genres to choose from (Gospel Action Songs, Bible Songs, Hymns, etc.). I had a great time at Amazon listening to some samples — and suggest that you do the same. The Cedarmont CDs are good for traditional singalongs.
For a more contemporary approach to Christian children’s music, John Bush recommends Sunday School Jamz on the Razor & Tie label. The disc has all your favorite singalong Bible songs but with more of a contemporary production.
And, finally, for a bedtime lullabies compilation, check out Sing Over Me: Worship Songs and Lullabies on Sparrow Records, which features 12 soothing original compositions performed by artists including Bethany Dillon and Nichole Nordeman.
