InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

Tom & Barbara Trevethan
Ann Arbor

Tom’s current ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) is directed to university faculty and his work has two major components. 1) At the University of Michigan, he has developed a network of prayer cells involving faculty on a weekly basis. This network has generated outreach Bible studies and a variety of regular witnessing friendships. (2) He serves on a national steering committee for faculty ministry and his national leadership role includes serving as “Acting Associate Director” for the northeast quadrant of the country, and being responsible for Research and Publications for IVCF Faculty Ministry.

Brad Wathen
EMU

The purpose of IVCF at Eastern Michigan University is to establish a witnessing community among students who follow Jesus as Savior & Lord: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world. Since IVCF is committed to student led groups, Brad focuses specifically on developing student leaders through small groups and one-on-one appointments. With ten years experience in Russia, and plans to return there, he wants to see graduates available to go anywhere God calls them. Brad also continues to serve IVCF’s sister movements in Eurasia through annual trips & long-distance mentoring.

Sara W. Chang
UM/Asian Ministries

Sara serves on the University of Michigan’s campus where she works with undergraduate college students. Currently, the fellowship includes members from China, India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and the United States. As the primary staff worker for AIV at UM, Sara spends much of her time teaching and equipping the chapter’s small group leaders, shepherding the leadership team and guiding the chapter’s mission, growth and vision in individual ministry areas.

This year’s chapter vision is “Food that fills, Fruit that lasts.” We hope grow in consuming spiritual food that produces eternal and lasting fruit for God’s kingdom. Sara will be working this year to cast, model and equip students towards this vision as they become a missional community seeking to develop Christian leaders who will take Jesus to all parts of campus and invite them into the vision of “students and faculty transformed, campus renewed and world changers developed.”
