Although retired from Wycliffe, Ellis continues to work as a consultant in translation. He has completed two versions of a new translation of the New Testament from Greek into English, and now is working on a translation of various books and portions of the Old Testament. The primary goal is for use by mother-tongue translators around the world – either as is, or after it is translated into other languages of wider communication. He is also heavily involved in producing translations or revisions of Scripture, and other materials, in the two languages in Papua New Guinea in which he worked previously. Martha does a lot of checking of Scripture, by email or face-to-face, of languages in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Guatemala. Ellis has been supported by AACRC since 1967.
