Worship

Worship at Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church
Worship is a central and essential part of the AACRC. Our worship services vary in their content and style but the fundamental goal of each is the same. That is, through music, prayer, confession, drama, giving, and preaching of the Word, we seek to offer true praise to our God while drawing each worshipper into intimate and meaningful relationship with God and with other worshippers. As a result, each worshipper is encouraged and empowered to live in this world in such a way as to draw others to the Lord and into the fellowship of believers.
There are three worship opportunities each Sunday. Each offers a unique opportunity to share fellowship with God and his people. We would be honored to have you join us as a participant at whatever level God is calling you.
In July and August, and September 4 the two morning services are combined into a single service at 10:00 AM and there is no evening service.
At 8:45 AM… a traditional worship format with singing of hymns and songs of the spirit, reflection on God’s grace and forgiveness, frequent choral and occasional instrumental music, a time for children’s involvement, and a message from God’s word intended to teach the truth of Scripture relevant to Christians in today’s world and life situations. During this worship service a nursery is provided for children 2 years and younger and a Preschool Church Hour class is available for children ages 3 to 5 who have not yet started Kindergarten.
At 11:15 AM… a contemporary worship format with singing of contemporary music led by a vocal and instrumental praise team, occasional dramas or liturgical dance presentations to enhance the worship theme, a time for children to be involved, and a message from God’s word generally presented as in the earlier service. During this worship service a nursery is provided for children 2 years and younger and a Preschool Church Hour class is available for children ages 3 to 5 who have not yet started Kindergarten.
At 6:00 PM… an evening service with an informal structure including singing and a message from God’s word often including some discussion or interaction. During this worship service a nursery is provided for children 2 years and younger.
Through these worship times and styles we seek to meet the wide variety of needs and experiences sought by the people of the community all around Ann Arbor. We intend to minister effectively to worshippers of all ages, with or without past church experience, a wide range of musical tastes, and any level of Scriptural knowledge. Whether you are searching for an in-depth, thoughtful message powerfully based on the truth of Scripture, an exuberant, praise-filled worship experience or fellowship with other Christians who are also struggling with the realities of life in the culture of our age, the AACRC offers worship that will touch the spirit of each person who steps with us into the presence of God.
