The Bible and Healing
Between January 16 and the beginning of Lent on March 13, I will be preaching a series of sermons on “The Bible and Healing.” I am finding in my study and research that I’m both challenged and fascinated. In Exodus 15:26 we hear God saying to his people, “I am the Lord who heals you.” In the Gospels we discover that Jesus is the incarnation of the God who heals. His healing ministry caused hundreds, if not thousands, to follow him or at least come to him. In the book of Acts we learn that the early church continued this ministry of healing. At the end of the series on Sunday February 27 and March 6 we will afford each other the opportunity to pray for the healing of others and ask for prayer for healing for ourselves. I invited you to pray today and in the weeks ahead for the leading of God’s powerful, healing Spirit to guide us.
